And We're Off!!

So our trip finally started this morning after a VERY cold evening of packing the trailer on Friday. Fr. Pat met us at church and had a prayer for us before we were off on the road. We had five cars and two trailers in our caravan. Thank you so much to the boy scout troup who were gracious enough to let us borrow their trailer. Our first day on the road took us through Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and now in Athens, Alabama where we are staying the night. Tomorrow we will finish up with the rest of Alabama and all of Mississippi. We are all very eager to get to Gulfport, but I know no one is looking forward to getting back in the cars tomorrow! We spent 10 hours driving today, about 12 hours total on the road between our lunch stop and other gas/bathroom stop. And boy have we seen the best and worst of the gas station bathrooms out there :o/

Tomorrow we are headed off to Easter Sunday mass in Athens, Al and then we are finishing the road trip (a.k.a. another 6 hours). We cant wait to get to Gulfport and start working!

Thanks again to everyone for you continued thoughts and prayers. We would not have been able to set out on this journey to help rebuild Gulfport without your donations and warm wishes. We will represent STAB well :) And thanks to Brenda and Paulette for all of your hard work in making arrangements for us. You have made this part of the trip that much easier :o) We wish you were here!
